Aditya Tare is not able to take part in the ongoing T20 Mumbai League due to being injured, but he is still trying to keep himself associated with the glamorous T20 competition. The 30-year old was on air yesterday commentating on the game for the official broadcaster and he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying that new experience.
While Tare was impressed with the quality of Cricket that was on show, he was more impressed with the fact that a large number of fans had gathered to watch the games. Generally, when Mumbai plays first-class cricket at the Wankhede Stadium, not a huge crowd comes and watches. At times, there aren’t even 100 people in the stands. But it wasn’t the case on the opening day of T20 Mumbai League.
The tickets were available in different cost range with the cheapest ones at Rs 50 and plenty of people showed interest with the total spectators’ count reaching 7000 which was a promising number for the organizers and they would hope it increases even further in the coming days of the tourney.
Enjoying the cricket as a commentator says Tare
“It’s good to do something related to cricket and commentating on the game is good work to do. It’s my first attempt and I am enjoying it. The atmosphere here just seems like the IPL – players with colored clothing, good response from the crowd and a good tournament to enjoy for everyone.” said Tare during his stint in the commentary box.
Tare is the skipper of the Mumbai Ranji team at the moment and he is also going to represent Mumbai Indians in IPL 11 which is starting next month. The wicketkeeper-batsman was bought by his home franchise in the auction at his base price of Rs 20 Lakhs. Tare has been a part of the Mumbai Indians squad in the past for 5 years from 2010 to 2015 before moving to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016.
