Afghanistan spin sensation Mujeeb Ur Rahman is all set to start a new inning in his life. The 19-year-old got married on Friday. Mujeeb got engaged in October last year. The off-spinner was recently in the UAE for the just-concluded IPL 2020 and will be soon flying out to Australia for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League.
Age does not really do justice to Mujeeb’s achievements in life so far. At a time when most youngsters try to find their feet in the game, the Afghanistan sensation is already one of the best spinners in the world and is now married too. Mujeeb is definitely one of the young cricketers to have tied the knot in recent years.
The photos and videos of his wedding are doing the rounds on social media and one can say that it was a grand affair. Despite the ongoing pandemic, a huge number of guests including other Afghanistan stars were seen attending Mujeeb’s wedding in his hometown. And a video of Mujeeb’s teammates dancing at his wedding has gone viral too.
The players could be seen wearing traditional attires of Afghanistan and dancing together as they enjoyed the party to the fullest. The likes of Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib were some of the prominent faces seen in the huddle.

A silent IPL 2020
Mujeeb Ur Rahman had an indifferent outing in the IPL 2020. The 19-year old, who is the second-ranked T20I bowler in the world, played just two games this season as Kings XI Punjab preferred the likes of Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin ahead of him. In those two games too, he could not make much of an impression.
He failed to pick up any wicket in his two appearances despite bowling his full quota and conceded at more than 10 runs per over. As far as KXIP’s performance is concerned, they finished at the sixth spot. The KL Rahul-led side finished IPL 2020 with 6 wins from 14 games and missed out on the playoffs spot. Mujeeb will be looking to do well when he plays for Brisbane Heat in the upcoming BBL.
