Rassie van Dussen has forayed into Proteas cricket back in January 2019 and has managed to create the right impressions. The 31-year-old is a kind of batter, who takes calculative risks and hardly lets the situation unnerve him. In his second ODI itself, he churned out an unbeaten 80, guiding his team to a five-wicket victory.

His unbeaten stand of 127 with Andile Phehlukwayo beat every other odd against Pakistan. Van der Dussen also made the cut for the 2019 World Cup where he had scores of 50, 41, 67* and 95.

The Transvaal-born could have gotten a couple of centuries, but luck eluded him both times when he was in the 90s. However, seven fifties in 21 ODIs aren’t meek numbers. Rassie averages a stunning 70.70 and it’s not a surprise that he has started featuring regularly in the South Africa side.
