After Michael Clarke cribs yet again, Ekta Kapoor offers him leading role in her new TV Soap: The controversial former Aussie skipper Michael Clarke who has been known for showing his emotions on and off the field has been contacted for something totally unique. After Michael Clarke cribbed once more and lambasted his former teammates and coach, he has been approached by none other than India’s most popular TV production house Balaji Telefilms’ head Ekta Kapoor for a lead role in her next project!

When Ekta was enquired about it, this is what she had to say. “I think Michael is well suited for the role. The story is about someone who starts crying and complaining for any type of things and who is, I must say, very strict when it comes to the homework. (referring to the Homeworkgate scandal which happened in Australia’s Tour of India).” She further added, “The way he doesn’t like his teammate coming to the match drunk as he mentioned about Symonds, will connect well with Indian audiences who always want to see a Sanskari (cultured) person in action.”

Apparently, when Michael Clarke was contacted for confirming, he just brushed it away saying, “Even my Dog can act better than daily soap actors. Maybe they should take Buchanan for the role.” Though he is still skeptical about it, rumour has it that one of the primary reasons that he doesn’t want to come to India is the fact that his record there is poor!

Matthew Hayden who loves India agrees to this. He says, “Last time an Aussie team headed by Clarke came to India, they received a pounding of 4-0 in Tests! Clarke still has to get over it plus there is always the 60 all out in England which gives him headaches. Surely you don’t want to start your acting career on such a low.”

Whether it transpires or not is a different story altogether but if ever it does happen, Clarke would be in contention of winning the award for the best actress that’s for sure!
