After No-Shave November, Shikhar Dhawan breaks his beard to sport a new look
He even struck his signature pose after getting into the clean-shaven look.
Last year, quite a few cricketers took part in the Break The Beard challenge. It caught a wind on social media as people went on to get their beard trimmed and go for a cleaner look. Various cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane and Hardik Pandya took up the trend.
It seems like the challenge has been revived again with Shikhar Dhawan’s latest post on Twitter. The left-handed batsman who celebrated his birthday recently had an intriguing video for his new look. He even made his signature pose after donning his clean shaven look. However, he didn’t get rid of his moustache though.
In line with the ongoing Pro Kabaddi, Dhawan put up a splendid one-liner for the game. He then wished all the teams in the tournament. Further, he went on to promote his break the beard and asked people to go for it. While some of his fans admired the look, others weren’t pleased to see him like that. Here’s his tweet:
“Kabaddi koi bachchon ka khel nahi. Yahan har raid pe points ka nahi, #MoochKaSawal hai.
Toh khelo shaan se aur rakho apni aur apni team ki mooch oonchi!
Go sheron!”
The 33-year-old was left out of the Test squad against Australia following his poor performances in the England tour. While his form in the traditional format has always been topsy turvy, it’s the limited-overs where Dhawan has dwelled as a batsman. He ended 2018 as the highest run scorer in T20 internationals with six fifties.
He also averages 49.83 with the bat this year with 897 runs. The swashbuckling opener enjoys a sensational record in ICC trophies. While he was India’s leading run scorer in the previous World Cup, Dhawan also won the Golden bat in both the Champions Trophy, i.e. 2013 and 2017 as well. Hence, he will be instrumental in shaping up India’s chances.
