After unfollowing Virat Kohli on Instagram, has Rohit Sharma unfollowed Anushka Sharma too?
Is the rift between the duo real?
The reports of a rift between the Indian captain Virat Kohli and the vice-captain Rohit Sharma have been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks now. The players haven’t spoken anything on the matter even as the Committee of Administrators (CoA) has cleared that they won’t look into it unless the players themselves come up with such issues. While many believe that these are only rumours, Rohit Sharma’s recent actions might put them in doubt a bit.
Reportedly, Rohit has unfollowed the Bollywood actress and Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma on Instagram if the reports in Mumbai Mirror are to be believed. He had unfollowed Kohli long ago which is when the speculations of a rift between the duo had started and there seems to be something not right between them. It all appeared hunky-dory though during the World Cup until India were knocked out from the tournament.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli still follows Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh which leads to more confusion. Did Rohit really unfollow the star couple? Did he ever follow them and all these are rumours? Well, only the cricketer can clear the air.
Another reason for the rift
The report in Mumbai Mirror also added that the problem between India’s two top batsmen had started long ago. “The problem between the two best batsmen started some years ago when Rohit and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan left the management company that Virat is associated with. At the World Cup in London, everything appeared hunky-dory until the Indian team’s abrupt exit after the semis,” the report read.
Earlier, India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun had cleared stating that all is well between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and there is nothing to worry about their relationship. “It’s not that we agree on everything. We have our arguments and discussions on various aspects like the composition of the team and the strategy. Everyone voices his opinion. But at the end of the day, the other person’s view is respected and a collective decision is taken,” he had told Sportstar.
