Sachin Tendulkar is a legend of the game. In a career that lasted 24 years, the ‘God of Cricket’ amassed several records with the willow in hand, and thwarted several challenges with grace and panache. And, not only the fans, even several cricketers have immense love and respect for Tendulkar.
One such incident took place in the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) dressing room, and the reaction of 21-year-old Ishan Kishan upon spotting Sachin Tendulkar is just unmissable.
In a video released by the Mumbai Indians (MI) on their YouTube channel, Kishan removes his shoulder bag in the dressing room in a casual manner, and upon seeing Tendulkar, the young cricketer immediately removed his glasses, adjusted his hair, and said ‘Afternoon sir’ spontaneously. Tendulkar then asked Kishan ‘How are you’, in Hindi. And, the way Kishan reacted to Tendulkar’s presence in the dressing room sent Kieron Pollard into peals of laughter.
Ishan Kishan has not had a good run in the 2021 edition of the IPL
Ishan Kishan has endured an abysmal run with the bat in the 2021 edition of the IPL. The left-handed batsman has managed to score just 107 runs in 8 innings in the 14th IPL edition and has scored his runs at a poor average of 13.38 and a low strike rate of 86.99.
Sachin Tendulkar, on the other hand, is the only cricketer to play 200 Test matches and is also the only batsman to have scored a mind-boggling 100 international hundreds. The ‘Little Master’ also holds the record for amassing the most runs in Tests (15921), as well as ODI cricket (18426).
Tendulkar retired from the international arena in the year 2013, after playing his 200th Test match against the West Indies side in Mumbai. The batting legend has also played 78 matches for the Mumbai Indians (MI) side in the IPL and scored 2334 runs at an average of 33.83. The master batsman scored a hundred and 13 fifties in IPL cricket.
Tendulkar played his last IPL match for the Mumbai Indians (MI) side on 13th May 2013 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side. The 48-year-old won the Orange Cap award in the 2010 edition of the IPL. In the 3rd IPL season, Tendulkar amassed 618 runs at an average of 47.54 and a strike rate of 132.62.
