Ahmed Shehzad takes a stunner against Peshawar in the national T20 cup
As the batsman hit the ball towards long on Shezad ran for the catch and threw his right hand in the air and grabbed a stunner.
Ahmed Shehzad has recently become a butt of jokes because of underperformance in international cricket. He often gets dropped from the national team. But, Shehzad did an exceptional job during his domestic T20 game for Lahore Blues.
While fielding against Peshawar he took a stunner at long on. As the batsman hit the ball towards long on Shehzad ran for the catch and threw his right hand in the air and grabbed a stunner which took everybody by surprise. The opener, who has recently struggled to get back his mojo in Pakistan shirt, smashed a 22-ball 50 to give his team a flying start in this game.
Meanwhile, Hussain Talat and Mohammad Hafeez scored 37 and 30 respectively as the Blues amassed an intimidating 173 by the halfway mark. In reply, Peshawar smashed 81 runs inside seven runs, thanks to 41-year old Rafatullah Mohmand, who scored 40 off 25 balls. It appeared that they might pull off a spectacular win. But, wickets continued to fall from the other end while Naved Yasin smashed 62 off 44. At the end, Lahore Blues bowled them out with a ball to spare, and three runs still in the bag.

Meanwhile, Shehzad has decided to consult with a Brtish psychologist Dr Taimoor to regain his form and cement his spot on the national team. Shehzad made his debut for the Pakistan national team as one of the most talented batsmen the country has ever produced. But, over time he faded away from the scene because of his inconsistency. Moreover, he struggled to get back his mojo in international cricket.
He was recently called back for World XI series in Lahore and he did well, failed to prove his credentials against Sri Lanka in the UAE. He was replaced by left-handed batsman Imam-ul-Haq during the ODI series. With the slot of the opener occupied he will be outside the door if the latter continues to pile up good performances.
