We always want to spend the special days like birthdays and anniversaries with our close friends. But if your work involves a lot of travelling especially abroad, like Indian cricketers have to, you miss out on spending these memorable days with your dear ones, as more often than not you are travelling domestically or Internationally. But Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane proved to be lucky in that regard.

Meeting with an old friend in London

Ajinkya Rahane and his wife Radhika were enjoying a leisurely walk through the famous Hyde Park when they caught up with an old friend Sudhansu Purohit, chef-turned-restaurateur. After being stuck in the compact hotel rooms, switch in atmosphere brought about by the relaxed atmosphere in the apartment was a welcome change for the couple.

Rahane who has been tucked into boring dishes like roast chicken, lamb shanks, boiled veggies, salad and garlic bread for a long time now seemed quite happy after getting good food on his birthday. “To get such good food on your birthday, and that too in London, I can only say one thing: Jhakaas,” exclaimed Rahane as quoted by Mid-day

For entertainment, there was Vikram Sathaye, who is a mimic-expert and brought out his best Ravi Shastri imitation which saw everyone in the room having a great laugh. Rahane is normally thought to be a shy individual but his wife Radhika is credited for getting the shy Mumbaikar to loosen up in recent times.

At end of the day, the Indian batsman seemed quite happy after having a great time with friends. “There’s nothing like spending a special day with good friends, and of course, with Radhika,” said Rahane, who had cake on his face

Rahane’s luck with food

Rahane was quite content with the delicacies he ate, while the Indian team earlier on the tour was in the state of shock when at their arrival they were only given food in limited portions. Well, it was inevitable for the caterer to get the sacking and they were sacked. Thankfully normalcy returned for empty stomachs.
