Ajinkya Rahane picks the toughest bowler to play in home conditions
Ajinkya Rahane says he is trying to stay positive under these alarming conditions.
Coronavirus pandemic forced the Indian government to enforce lockdown in the country. This step from their side brought the cricketing activities to a halt and players were left with nothing much to do. So, the players found a unique way of passing their time by interacting with the fans through live Instagram sessions. Earlier, Rohit Sharma, Kevin Pietersen and many others were spotted doing the same. And, now Ajinkya Rahane has joined the bandwagon, who gave an answer to some of the curious questions of his ardent followers.
COVID-19 has made things quite bad that has taken more than 1 Lakh lives across the globe. The researchers are busy in developing its vaccine but still, they have not managed to get a breakthrough. In the meantime, the government drew guidelines for every individual in their country to follow in order to stay safe from the novel virus. And, cricketers are also following each and every guideline given by the government in these alarming conditions.
Ajinkya Rahane conducts Live Instagram session
In a live Instagram session, Ajinkya Rahane, the vice-captain of Team India in Tests picked the toughest bowler he has faced in home conditions. During the interaction, the 31-year-old revealed that James Anderson is quite difficult to face. As per him, the veteran pacer from England is well aware of how to take advantage of home conditions.
“(But) especially talking about one particular bowler – James Anderson in England is really challenging. He knows the conditions well. He (Anderson) is the one.” Rahane said in Live Instagram session.
The right-handed batsman also recited that at the moment he is trying to stay positive. He is sad to see what is happening in the world due to Coronavirus. However, he is looking at the positive aspects like he has got enough time to spend with his family including her six-and-a-half months’ old daughter.
“At this point of time, it is important to be positive mentally. Mentally, I’m visualising my cricketing stuff, batting. As an international athlete, cricketer, it is important to be mentally fit. First of all, definitely this is a sad thing, which is happening. But, looking at the positive side, I’m getting time to spend with my daughter and family. My daughter is six-and-a-half months old, I’m lucky to be with her,” he added.
