Ajinkya Rahane set to welcome second child in October with wife Radhika
Ajinkya Rahane has a daughter named Aarya.
Indian batting ace and former Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is going to become a father for the second time. Rahane’s wife Radhika Dhopavkar shared a picture of the family on Instagram and hinted that the second child is due in October of this year.
Incidentally, Rahane became a father for the first time in October 2019, when his wife Radhika gave birth to daughter Aarya. Radhika’s post on the social media site came on Friday evening and even evoked a response from her close friend and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s better half Ritika Sajdeh.
The comment section was flooded with good wishes and blessings for the Indian cricketer’s forthcoming child. The post had a picture of the sweet family with Rahane standing behind his wife, while his firstborn child was having an endearing moment with the mother.
Ajinkya Rahane thanked staff at the NCA while undergoing rehab from an injury
Rahane was last seen in action for the national team in the Test series against hosts South Africa earlier this year. The elegant right-hander endured a treacherous time in IPL 2022 with Kolkata Knight Riders, scoring just 133 runs from seven matches. His misery was further compounded when he picked up an injury in the penultimate game of the season for the franchise and was ruled out for the rest of the tournament.
Earlier in June, the middle-order batter who led India to a sensational Test series win in Australia spoke on his injury and his rehab at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.
“That (injury) was really unfortunate. But my rehab is going really well. I am recovering really well. I was in Bangalore (at the NCA) for nearly 10 days and I am going there again for my rehab and recovery. It’s been on track. So right now my only focus is on getting better. Get fit as soon as possible and be on the field. I am not sure (when) I will be able to get (fully) fit, it is expected to be around 6-8 weeks but at this moment it is about taking one day at a time, one week at a time,” he had said in June.
