Delhi Capitals (DC) player Ravi Ashwin pulled out of the ongoing 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He stated that his family members are putting up a fight against COVID-19 and wants to be with them during these tough times. While not many were aware of specifically whom the off-spinner was talking about, his wife Prithi Ashwin has shockingly revealed that it was their kids who were tested positive first for the virus.

India is currently fighting a tough battle against the second wave of Coronavirus and as many as three lakh cases are being reported daily. The fatality rate has also rocketed to a scary high and it has certainly left everyone worried. Coming back to the Ashwin family, Prithi took to her Instagram account to inform that as many as 10 members of their family tested positive.

The two kids, unfortunately, were the reason for the transmission of the virus and she recollected the horrifying times for the family as one of their parents also returned positive. Prithi herself is still in isolation and for the same reason, Ravi Ashwin decided to take a break from the IPL.

Reach out and seek help, requests Prithi Ashwin

While she is still in isolation, Prithi Ashwin narrated her experience so far saying that days 5 to 8 were not great for her. However, she also mentioned that she is recovering while also suggesting the ones going through this to reach out and seek help.

Here’s her Instagram post:

After Ravi Ashwin, a few other players also pulled out of the tournament. Andrew Tye, Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa decided to go back home with the restrictions tightening in Australia even as the country banned all flights to and from India. There have been calls for the tournament to be stopped as well. The players, however, are doing their best coming forward and donating money to help India fight against the virus.
