David Miller is another player that springs to mind when a cricket fan thinks of Kings XI Punjab. He joined the franchise in 2012 and earned himself a name among the KXIP faithful. He ended his long association with the team in 2020 as they decided not to retain the services of the Proteas batsman and he will be playing for Rajasthan Royals.

He enjoyed his most prolific seasons during a period from 2013 to 2015. In 2013, he got 418 runs in just 12 matches with a staggering average of 59.71 at a strike-rate in excess of 160. This included a gorgeous ton against Royal Challengers Bangalore. So destructive was his 38-ball hundred against RCB in 2013, that KXIP have always shown faith in the left-handed batsman.

He followed that campaign by scoring 446 and 357 runs in the 2014 and 2015 editions respectively. He parted ways with the Kings XI Punjab with a record of 1974 runs in 82 innings. His healthy average of of 35.25 and a strike rate of 140 is perfect for him to be a mainstay in this conceptual lineup’s middle-order.
