This is another automatic selection to this list. One can’t think of an all-time Indian XI in any format without the name Kapil Dev on it. While he is largely celebrated for his heroics in the 1983 World Cup win, his contribution to the red-ball cricket was no less. He still holds the record for the most no. of wickets by an Indian pacer in Test cricket.

He is one of the best all-rounders ever to play the sport and remains the only man in the history of Test cricket to have scored 5000 runs and taken more than 400 wickets in his career even after 25 years of his retirement. He led the Indian pace attack for most of his career and was an attacking lower-order batter who scored some important runs with the tail.

In 131 Tests he played for the country, he scored 5248 runs with a strike rate of 94.76 with an average of 31.05. He also had 434 wickets with an average of 29.65.
