Amazon India to spend a staggering 40 crore on 'Inside Edge'

The upcoming Bollywood-Cricket web series, named ‘Inside Edge,’ promoted and co-launched by Amazon has already garnered a tremendous buzz all across the nation. Now reports suggest that Amazon India will spend a staggering 40 crore for the feature show. 20 crore has been pledged as the marketing budget. The other half will be spent on production expenditures.
Each episode has been earmarked a budget of 2 crores for its production. And it is very evident that the world’s biggest e-commerce platform will leave no stone unturned to promote their first India Original web-series. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the story revolves around the ups and downs of a T20team called the ‘Mumbai Mavericks.’

Vivek is an investor who comes to Richa’s aid but has conflicting interests. The cast also includes Tanuj Virwani who plays the role of a marquee player in the team.
Amazon to release nine Indian original shows
According to Inside reports, co-producer Farhan Akhtar was quoted as saying, “The choice of watching original new-age shows at their convenience is exciting for viewers and we are thrilled to bring them the first Indian Amazon Original. These are super exciting times for creators, allowing us to bring to life a story that is not confined by time or schedules.”
Amazon Prime, on its induction, has promised nine Indian original shows, making it the largest Indian original lineup on an Over-the-Top (OTT) platform. Netflix, on the other hand, has already announced its first Indian original series based on Vikram Chandra’s book ‘Sacred Games’. Anurag Kashyap’s production house will produce the series. Starring Saif Ali Khan, the series will be directed by Kashyap himself.
