If all goes according to plans, wicket keeper batsman Ambati Rayudu will soon turn out for Vidarbha for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. Reportedly, Vidarbha Cricket Association officials are in talks with the mercurial cricketer for the last two-three month.
“Yes. We are in talks with Rayudu but nothing has been penned down. He will be a good edition to Vidarbha if it materialises. We will announce soon once the contract is signed,” a top VCA official confirmed to TOI.
“Rayudu’s name was discussed during Cricket Development meeting and we had given this responsibility to Paras (Mhambrey), who is also in Mumbai Indians coaching staff. Paras has been in touch with Rayudu since last two-three months. However, he was busy with his national commitments and Indian Premier League. He is yet to get No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Baroda Cricket Association,” the official said.
Rayudu made a comeback to the domestic circuit after the ICL controversy and has been part of the Baroda team for the last six seasons.

Rayudu’s inclusion will add more strength to the Vidarbha’s middle-order which already has the likes of Wasim Jaffer, the highest individual run scorer in the Indian domestic circuit and Karnataka wicketkeeper-batsman Ganesh Satish.”
“Vidarbha renewed Satish’s contract, which ended at the end of the last season, for a further two years. However, VCA has chosen not to renew Subramaniam Badrinath’s contract. The Tamil Nadu batsman had joined Vidarbha in 2014 and led Vidarbha till the semi-finals in the last two seasons.
