Ambati Rayudu wishes 'Bajju pa' a very Happy Birthday

Both Harbhajan and Rayudu were parts of the victorious CSK side in this year's IPL.

Ambati Rayudu is in the middle of a rather turbulent time in his cricketing career. He made his international debut back in 2013, however, couldn’t quite cement his position in the lineup. He played his last match in national colors back in 2016 versus Zimbabwe. To add to his woes, he was also released by the Mumbai Indians prior to this year’s cash-rich IPL.

His fate somewhat took a turn after he was roped in by MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. He was mostly entrusted in the opener’s slot and he hardly let his team down. With 602 runs in 16 matches, the Guntur-born cricketer turned out to be their leading run-scorer. The 32-year old also notched his maiden century in T20s when he accomplished the same versus the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rayudu showers love on Harbhajan

His stupendous exhibition of batsmanship didn’t elude the eyes of the national selectors and he was drafted in the ODI squad for India’s tour of England. Just when it seemed that Rayudu was finding his feet back into the national team, thunder stroke. He failed the much-debated yo-yo test. He failed to breach the benchmark of 16.1 out of 25 owing to which he was ousted from the team.

Suresh Raina, who made his comeback to the ODI team after three years, replaced him. During his stint with Mumbai, he played with the likes of Harbhajan Singh, who is currently celebrating his 38th birthday. Coincidentally, Harbhajan was also a part of CSK. Both also had the privilege to be a part of the winning squad on four occasions in the IPL, three for Mumbai and one for CSK.

Meanwhile, wishes have flooded in on the legendary off-spinner’s birthday. Rayudu also didn’t miss out on the opportunity to wish the tweaker. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Wish you a very happy birthday bajju pa @harbhajan_singh”
