Amidst the anger and disbelief, many Indians are happy at India's defeat
A gem of a singer promised the fans that she would release a new song if India claimed their third ICC Champions Trophy title.
The spectators at the Kennington Oval in London on Sunday were in for something special. Special indeed from Pakistan’s point of view, as they produced a magical show in the all-important final match of the eight edition of ICC Champions Trophy. In a span of 2 weeks, fans witnessed a completely remodelled Pakistani cricket team, as the Men in Blue were completely outplayed and thrashed.
After receiving orders to bat first from Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Pakistan scored a massive total of 338 runs. 339 is always a big target to chase. But on a flat track and in the modern day cricket, it was far from impossible. But the Indian batters made the target look like Mount Everest, and fell off their tracks in the first level itself. The so-called splendid batting lineup could not manage to score even 200 runs, as the green shirts won the match by 180 runs.
Cheers, mate! We are now saved from ‘selfies’
While many Indian supporters were left heart-broken and stupefied after the match, some social media bugs were happy at India’s defeat. No, they are not the separatists you have been reading about. Ever listened to the popular lines “Selfie maine le li aj, sar pe mere rehta taaj”?
The superb singer and India’s stern reply to Pakistan’s Tahir Shah, Dhinchak Pooja made an announcement ahead of the match. The girl has given the likes of Sunidhi Chauhan and Neha Kakkar a run for their money.
Ahead of the match, Dhinchak Pooja promised that she would release a new song if India defeated Pakistan. Fans were still drooling over the Selfie song, and hence another song from the queen of melody would have been too hard to digest for the fans. The singer has over 1 million subscribers on YouTube and her hit track ‘Selfie maine….” has over 15 million views.
So, we are now saved from another masterpiece from the angel. We, as fans, need time to digest the masterpieces. Hence after the match, the fans revealed their feelings of relief on Twitter.
