Amit Mishra booked for assaulting a woman: Indian leggie Amit Mishra has been booked for assaulting a lady during the Indian training camp in Bangalore, last month.
Woman, a friend of the cricketer has alleged that he physically assaulted her last month. In a complaint registered with the Ashok Nagar police on 27th September, the woman has alleged that she was in Mishra’s room on 25th September when he walked in, the two had a fight during which Mishra allegedly assaulted her.
Ashok Nagar police have been investigating the case and have issued a notice to Mishra asking him to give his statements. The alleged victim knows Mishra for the last 3 years and had gone to meet him.
Amit Mishra is currently on national duty and is a part of the Indian ODI squad for the home tour of South Africa. He was a part of the playing XI during the 3rd ODI at Rajkot. He picked up 1 wicket for 38 runs in his quota of 10 overs.
Mishra is a vital cog in the Indian bowling line up, as India is using the strategy of playing 3 spinners.
Amit Mishra was on Monday also selected for the Test series against South Africa, which commences on November 5. This might land the leggie in some trouble, though more developments relating to the case will clear out once the police take his statement. There is no news whether they will try to take him in custody for investigation.
This will certainly put him under pressure and if the allegations turn true his place in the side might well be under jeopardy.
