The ‘Shahenshah’ of Bollywood, Mr Amitabh Bachchan has been an avid follower of cricket. If he is not in the stands cheering for the Men in Blue, one can notice his presence on Twitter cheering for his country. The ongoing Champions Trophy has caught his attention for the past two weeks and Amitabh has been closely tracking the matches. He is now excited at India’s entry into the semi-finals.
The actor has made his excitement felt on the micro-blogging site in a creative fashion by posting his own sketch in a collage. He put different colours on his clothing, depicting the four teams who have qualified for the semi-final fixtures- India, Bangladesh, England and Pakistan.
His sketch also carried a message where the actor pointed out the three semi-finalists who have qualified from the sub-continent represented one whole country once and the fourth semi-finalist ruled the country at one time. “Cricket Championship ’17, 4 semi-finalists, 3 from once one country, ruled once by the 4th SF,…who shall rule now?” he tweeted.

The Champions Trophy which began with eight teams has now been reduced to four. India went into the semi-finals after thrashing South Africa by 8 wickets while Pakistan’s ticket to the semi-final was sealed after they defeated Sri Lanka by 3 wickets. England had already cemented its semi-final spot after coming out unbeaten in all the matches.
The first semi-final between England and Pakistan will commence on June 14 at Cardiff which will be succeeded by the second semi-final between India and Bangladesh on June 15 at Birmingham. India is in a commanding position to beat Bangladesh and grab the ultimate spot of the tournament. England is also in the same vein as they will look to defeat Pakistan to seal the final date with India.
It will be interesting to see how Mr Bachchan reacts when the Indian team makes their way ahead in the tournament or if they don’t.
