Analysis: Expected performance, runs and century prediction for Virat Kohli on the tour of Australia

During the Test series in South Africa and England, Kohli averaged 47.67 and 59.3 respectively whereas the average runs delivered by anyone else were 20.56 and 26.09. This shows Virat’s capability of scoring tough runs. After all this hard work, he might have some relief in Australia which has become land for the batsmen recently. Average of a batsman reads 38.44 in the 21 Test matches played in Australia since December 2014.

This is the highest in any country in this period and the second best is 34.8 recorded in Zimbabwe. During India’s last Test series, batsmen average read 42.6 while for Kohli it was 86.5. Virat has made gradual improvements to his technique in the longer format and thus has a game which naturally helps him play big knocks. He is expected to cross his last series tally of 692 runs if India bat twice in all four Tests and should manage at least three big hundreds in the eight innings.
