Andre Russell isn’t having the greatest of times in his cricket career of late. The all-rounder has already missed a couple of matches for the Jamaica Tallawahs in the 2019 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after copping a blow on the helmet from speedster Hardus Viljoen. But as far as his personal life is concerned, the hulk-like Jamaican has every reason to be on cloud nine.

The 31-year-old is set to become father of a baby as his wife, Jassym Lora, is pregnant. The couple dated each other for two years following which they tied the knots back in 2016. The duo often posts heartfelt pictures and videos on the social media, showing the love their share for each other. Jassym and Russell celebrated the former’s pregnancy in a unique manner.

Jassym Lora bowls at Andre Russell

Russell had a gathering with his close ones. There he was holding the bat and his better-half had a big cricket ball in her hand. Russell requested his wife to bowl at him, but the latter looked a tad confused. Then Russell showed her how to bowl after which Jassym bowled an under-arm ball. Once Russell connected, the surrounding was filled with colours, much to everyone’s delight.

Russell uploaded a video of the same on Instagram to share the happy moments with his fans and well-wishers. He captioned the video and wrote, “So it’s #GIRL another blessing in my life it didn’t matter if it was a girl or a boy, all am asking God for is a healthy baby #babyrussell,”

Jassym Lora has travelled with Russell overseas as well for the latter’s cricketing assignments. She was there in India a few months back when her husband plied his trade for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Russell played some blistering knocks during that stint and the focus always used to shift to Jassym, who was seen cheering from the stands.

In April 29, Russell celebrated his 31st birthday with the KKR players and Jassym was also a part of the auspicious occasion. For the time being, Russell will be looking to attain fitness and take the field for the Jamaica Tallawahs at the earliest. The Tallawahs have only won one out of their five games.
