Andre Russell might be in the mix for final clash against CSK: David Hussey
Russell has already started bowling as per David Hussey.
Dealing with all the twists and hiccups towards the end, Kolkata Knights Riders have finally made it to the finale of IPL 2021 and will see Chennai Super Kings on October 15. As KKR have moved to the finale night, chief mentor David Hussey opened up on some crucial aspects of his team and the inclusion of their ace all-rounder Andre Russell. It is known that Russell suffered a hamstring injury and has missed the last few matches with his team.
However, Hussey added that Russell might be in the mix for the game against CSK. It was for all to see that Kolkata suffered a middle-order collapse in the game against DC and it completely looked like they are throwing away to DC but a six by Rahul Tripathi sealed a deal for the purple and gold outfit.
Andre Russell was bowling before the game against DC: David Hussey
“He was bowling before the game (against DC) today, so he might be in the mix,” said KKR chief mentor David Hussey after the match.
Hussey also added about some of his other players and said they all are classy and they will move to Dubai with confidence oozing out of them. It remains to be seen if KKR will be able to clinch the glory this time around as they won in 2012 and 2014 under the guidance of Gautam Gambhir. On the other hand, MS Dhoni and his men will be eyeing their fourth title in Dubai as they will be already playing their record finale for the 9th time in the history of the Indian Premier League.
“No, I’m not concerned because they’re all classy players. They know how to play. (It) is just the difficult nature of these pictures, they have been playing on, makes the middle of players, sort of stand out, they are not getting their strike rate 200. They had to knuckle down and maybe a strike rate of 110-120, so not concerned, we are going to Dubai full of confidence and you just never know what’s going to happen,” added Hussey.
