Andre Russell is excited to be part of BPL 2019-20
Andre Russell feels that BPL is more interesting in comparison to BBL and is shorter in duration as well. So, he has to stay away from his home for less time. Russell feels that everything in Bangladesh is quite amazing and gets lots of love from the fans. The West Indian also added the fact that as soon he got aware of the new teams, new owners and new franchise it was enough for him to pick BPL.
Russell is excited to lead his team Rajshahi Royals and recited that it will be a new experience for him because in Durban Heats he used to play just as a player. According to the 31-year-old all-rounder, his side is not the best squad in the tournament but have some exciting players in their side, who can play an important role in winning the games.
“The tournament [BPL] is more fun and it is shorter and so less time away from home. I get a lot of love here. The hospitality and everything is amazing. You get a warm welcome on this side of the world. I never really think twice. Once I heard this was happening, new rules, new teams, new owners and new franchise. I was interested to be part of it. I wanted to get the ball rolling,”
“I won’t say we have the best squad but we have a good team on paper. It is a good start for any captain, coach and any team. We want to use the experience of each player, which will put us in the right foot. We have a few good local talents. I have been watching videos, seeing what they can do. We have a balanced squad including local and international fast bowlers. We have good options,” Andre Russell said as quoted by Cricbuzz.
