Andrew Tye is delighted after completing his first priority with the IPL earnings
He played for the Kings XI Punjab this year in the IPL.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has made careers not only of the local players but also of the budding foreign cricketers. One of them is the Australian fast bowler Andrew Tye who has emerged as the T20 specialist over the years especially after his exploits in the cash-rich tournament. There is a lot of money in the IPL which lures the players around the world and Tye has put the money earned by playing in the tournament to good use by completing his longtime dream.
Tye played for the Kings XI Punjab this year after the franchise sought his services for a whopping amount of Rs 7.2 Crores in the mega-auction. He repaid the faith showed in him and returned with 24 wickets in 14 matches at a manageable economy of 8 and his average during this period was only 16.36. The 31-year-old has played only a couple of editions in the T20 tournament and has become a star in no time.
What did he do with his IPL money?
Andrew Tye has bought the dream car which every cricketer seeks to have with him at some stage in his career. With the Rs 7.2 Crore which he earned from the IPL contract, the Western Australian cricketer has bought the Mercedes Benz and is delighted over the same.
He expressed his happiness on the social media platform Instagram and let his fans and followers know about it. Tye posted the picture of himself with the brand new car and captioned it with a message which read, “First priority after getting home from overseas is complete. I managed to buy myself a new car this week. All I can say is that it is a beast!!!”
Andrew Tye has made it to the Australian team as well now and has already played 18 T20 Internationals to go with seven ODIs. He is the one to watch out for in the upcoming matches for his country and might well make it to the World Cup squad next year in England.
