Cricket aficionados across the nation witnessed a beautiful moment on Twitter when two of India’s greatest bowlers Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh shared mutual praise. On one hand, we have seen Harbhajan being vocal about his thoughts and looks to straightaway deliver, without giving a second thought.
On the other, Kumble looks to let the moment pass without showing any ecstasy or agony. However, the current scenario was a bit different as Harbhajan took to Twitter to not only post a photo of the memorable meeting but also gave his former captain and bowling partner a compliment of the highest degree.
Here’s the tweet
“It’s always a pleasure to meet The great man @anilkumble1074 India s biggest match winner ever. A perfect role model,” Harbhajan tweeted.

Kumble soon returned with a more beautiful reply saying, “Always a pleasure to meet my partner in many challenges. Winning wouldn’t have been possible without you at the other end buddy! #teameffort,”

Cricketing Days
In their cricketing days, Kumble, and Harbhajan were the chief architect in making India a strong force to reckon with in the longest format of the game. Together they played 54 Tests, sharing a staggering 501 wickets. They arguably formed India’s most potent bowling attack and played a huge role in the team’s rise in the previous decade.
In their respective careers, Anil Kumble retired with unbelievable 619 wickets in Tests and is India’s leading wicket taker. While Harbhajan’s career was rescued from potential oblivion when for Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly fought for his inclusion. Seeing his captain’s faith, Harbhajan turned into a remarkable bowler and has 417 scalps to his name in Test cricket.
What makes the bond between two more special is how the legend mentored Bhajji in his early days, which eventually let the pupil upstage the master by being the first choice, especially in ODIs, where his free hitting ability was of much value to the team.
