India was blessed to have Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in their ranks and most importantly in the same team during the best part of the 2000’s. The duo has troubled many batsmen all over the world while they were playing for the country. While Anil Kumble retired from cricket, Harbhajan has not been on the selector’s radar for a long time. Both Bhajji and Kumble met recently and jumbo took to social media to express delight after meeting the off-spinner.

After stepping down as the head coach of team India, Kumble has not been involved with cricket. Very few are aware of his activities and he seems to be enjoying his time off the field. Soon after the conclusion of Champions Trophy in June, it was reported that all was not well between the captain Virat Kohli and coach. After days of speculation and rumors, Kumble himself resigned as the coach of Indian team terming his relationship with Kohli ‘untenable’

Virat Kohli has never spoken about the spat with him in public. Though the differences between the two were clear. Recently, when the skipper credited the team’s success to the support staff, he didn’t mention the name of the legendary leg-spinner and the former coach.

Anil Kumble, now it is understood that is having a great time off the field. He was happy after meeting his old teammate and posted a message for his followers to let them know about their meeting. His message read, “Great to catch up with my buddy @harbhajan_singh.” He also posted a selfie with ‘The turbanator’ along with the message which shows that the bonding between the two is very special.

India in Kumble’s tenure as coach

Team India was magnificent in the coaching tenure of Anil Kumble as they won every series albeit two. The grand home season was absolutely brilliant for Team India as they won against England, Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand. They defeated England and New Zealand in the limited overs format as well. They lost only a single Test match at Pune against Australia. India also made it to the final of Champions Trophy in England only to lose it to Pakistan post which Kumble stepped down.
