Anil Kumble takes part in the inauguration of Nandanvan Zoo
Indian Head Coach Anil Kumble recently shared the stage with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhattisgarh CM Dr. Raman Singh at the inauguration ceremony of the Nandanvan Jungle Safari on Tuesday. The Zoo is situated in the Khandua district of Naya Raipur.
The inauguration event was followed by Safaris and photo sessions. Kumble, who is an avid wildlife photographer and a nature lover, also had the opportunity to go on safari with both PM Modi and the CM of the state. Kumble has always been involved with the conservation of the wildlife and shows his concerns about the depleting forest cover around the world through his tweets.
The spin bowling legend later in shared a few snaps from the event and expressed his happiness about being a part of the special event. He wrote: Honoured to be a part of the inauguration of Nandan Van Jungle Safari at Naya_Raipur with Honourable PM narendramodi and CM drramansingh
The talking point of the event was PM Modi trying his hand at wildlife photography. The image of him leaning close towards for a shot with a tiger staring into the lens was the circulated widely in the social media space. The jungle safari, described by PM Modi as Raman Singh’s “pet project”, is spread over 800 acres of land. It is divided in 8 zones.
The zones are – Monument zone, Parking zone, Administrative zone, Water zone, Waiting zone, Zoo zone, Safari zone, Management zone. Besides tigers, it will showcase bears, lions, deer, chimpanzees and a variety of other animals. The CM of Chattisgarh hopes that the Zoo would help him promote Naya Raipur as a new hub for investments and projects.
