Anil Kumble's first assignment starts with a minor jolt
The new Indian head coach Anil Kumble‘s first assignment of Caribbean tour started with a minor problem. Team India along with the support staff landed in St. Kitts after a long flight from London. On landing, Kumble realised that British Airways had left his kit at Gatwick airport, central London.
British Airways apologised to the former Indian leg-spinner in a hilarious way. BA took to Twitter to regret the incident.
“@anilkumble1074 We’re sorry your bags are ‘not out’ to St Kitts! They have been ‘caught behind’ your flight from Gatwick. We are looking to ‘bowl’ you over with our service recovery,” tweeted BA.
However, this is not the first time that cricketers have landed without their kits. Once an ODI match between India and Australia in 1984 got abandoned in Jamshedpur due to missing kits. The Aussie players landed in Jamshedpur but their clothes did not. They finally arrived by road from Kolkata.
