Anil Kumble's Tenvic is set to work with 31 schools in Andhra Pradesh

Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble’s sports company Tenvic is all set to reach out to 31 private schools across the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The Bangalore based company was shortlisted on the basis of a tender process and it’s track record looked outstanding. The agency will monitor every child and work with their respective goals and help them achieve it. The agency has already established itself in Karnataka, and this is their first major assignment.

Speaking to Sportstar, Special Chief Secretary (Sports) L. V. Subrahmanyam said that it is very important to strengthen sports from the initial phase, ie the school level. He also added that it is not efficient for the school managements to focus on each and every kid.

Promoting sports

“As Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) is burdened with its regular chores we wanted to involve a professional agency to strengthen sports at the grassroots of school level. Even the school managements are unable to spare time to follow a systematic and scientific way of promoting sports owing to academic compulsions.”

He said these adopted schools will enter into deal with Tenvic, which will take care of the training, evaluation, exposure and infrastructure departments. Mr. Subrahmanyam said this initiative will be crucial for Andhra Pradesh which was striving for an identity in the field of sports after bifurcation. “Final touches to the project will be given soon after the arrival of SAAP Managing Director N. Bangara Raju from his Europe trip”.

Producing world beaters

He said the ultimate intent of the initiative was long-term athletic development. “A ten-year plan is imperative to produce world champions by meticulously following fixation of milestones, process of reaching them, evaluation, nutrition, recovery and these activities should be monitored, recorded and documented on a daily basis”.

Tenvic is turning out to be one of the finest agencies which promote sports education in the country. With Anil Kumble at the helm of things, discipline and vision will clearly be secondary to none.
