The India ‘A’ side and their encounter against the Windies ‘A’ team saw some impressive youngsters come to the fore for the Indians. Ankit Rajpoot was one of the crucial pieces of the side when he went ahead and secured an important with five wickets to his name. He also proved to be frugal and economical too as he was one of the best bowlers on tour.

In addition to this, Rajpoot’s teammates from the Kings XI Punjab – Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair also impressed quite a bit with the bat. Nair was named the captain of the side while Agarwal’s fine form in recent times saw him carrying it into the unofficial Test in England.

A Test of woes for both sides

The first innings saw the Indians being ripped apart by the Windies and bowled out of 133. Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw were both dismissed for first-ball ducks while the Windies ended up with a mammoth 383 on the board to their name.

However, the story changed rather significantly when the Indians came out to bat in the second innings with the wicket offering a lot more to batsmen this time around. Shaw and Agarwal slammed twin half-centuries and stitched an impressive 181-run stand for the opening wicket before Shaw went on to complete his century.

R Samarth, the 25-year old Karnataka batsman stroked his way to a masterful 137 and was well supported by his skipper Karun Nair as the Indians ensured that they reached a mammoth 609 in the second innings.

The Indians began the final innings of the Windies batting as all bowlers began to chip in with wickets as even a wily Ankit Rajpoot also took a wicket in in 11 overs as the match ended in a draw.
