The Indian cricket team is all set to resume its international duties with the India tour of Australia after a span of nine months. The tour comprises three-match ODI series, starting on November 27 followed by matches on November 29 and December 2. This will be followed by three T20 Internationals on December 4, 6 and 8.
The four-match Test series will then commence from December 17 in Adelaide. A 32-member jumbo squad will take a flight to Sydney right after the final of the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) on November 10 in Dubai.
Virat Kohli, who will be captaining the Indian cricket team in all the three formats of the game, recently shifted to the bio-bubble made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Dubai after his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was bowed out of the tournament.
The skipper looks quite excited to get back to business in Blue jersey after a long sabbatical due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. On November 10, the Bollywood actress and wife of Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma took to her official Instagram handle to post a picture of her husband. In the adorable snap shared by the diva, Virat can be seen meticulously cleaning his spikes for the upcoming Australia tour.

Virat Kohli to miss the last three Test matches against Australia
On November 9 (Monday), BCCI gave a major update regarding the availability of the Indian captain Kohli for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. Virat and Anushka are all set to welcome their first child early in January and thus, the former has availed for paternity leave after the first Test.
The Indian board has granted the paternity leave to the skipper and thus Kohli will return back to India after taking part in the first Test match which is scheduled to be played from December 17 – December 21 in Adelaide.
“At the selection committee meeting held on October 26th, 2020, Mr Virat Kohli had informed the BCCI about his plans to return to India after the first Test in Adelaide. The BCCI has granted paternity leave to the Indian captain. He will return after the first Test against Australia in Adelaide,” BCCI’s statement read in a release.
