Anushka Sharma slams daily for publishing her fake interview
The couple's intimate and rather private wedding confirmed their hesitance in disclosing her private life in the public sphere.
A leading daily has come under fire after Anushka Sharma revealed on social media that their regional supplement had published a fabricated interview attributed to her. Though the date of publication is not known, the interview seems to have appeared in the regional supplement after her husband Virat Kohli Instagrammed a picture with her when he was in South Africa for a series.
She took to Twitter to say, “It is SHOCKING to see a completely fabricated interview of mine in a reputed publication. This is to clarify that I have NEVER done an interview on my personal life with them or with anyone else. Just shows how carelessly your personal freedom is looked at by them.”
The headline from the screenshot shared by Sharma roughly translates into: ‘In life, some things happen out of the blue, just like this movie…’ Deblina Ghosh Mukherjee, the reporter from the regional supplement, Ei Samay, who ‘conducted’ the interview admitted that the interview in question was published.
“Yes, we had published the interview, but we are not in a position to make any comments on it now.”
The interview in question was regarding this picture Instagrammed by Kohli, which was captioned: “My one and only.” As of now, the picture has over 3.4 million likes.
The couple’s intimate and rather private wedding confirmed their hesitance in disclosing her private life in the public sphere. She also said that she has never given an interview to any publication about her personal life.
She was last seen in Pari, her third film as a producer. She is currently filming Sui Dhaaga with Varun Dhawan. Later this year, she will be seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, which also stars Katrina Kaif. Kohli, on the other hand, is enjoying his time off from cricket and is not featuring in the ongoing Nidahas Trophy. He will next be seen leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL scheduled to begin on April 7.
