After the culmination of India vs Sri Lanka Test series, skipper Virat Kohli took a voluntary break. As much needed the sabbatical was, little did fans around the world know that Kohli was going to get hitched. The Indian cricket team captain got married to his long-time girlfriend and Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma in a private affair in Tuscany, Italy.
The event was attended only by close friends and relatives. Almost at the same time, Virat and Anushka both took to Twitter to confirm the news of their wedding. While Virushka‘s tweet went crazy viral in no time, their tweet has become one of the most re-tweeted ones of 2017 and Virat’s wedding tweet takes the crown for 2017’s Golden Tweet Of The Year, reveals a statement by Twitter India.
While Virat confirmed their wedding with a post along, Anushka’s tweet won the hearts of millions. She wrote, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

Virat return to the nets
Meanwhile, skipper Kohli has returned to the nets with the wedding shenanigans almost coming to an end. However, there is another reception party, scheduled to be hosted today (December 26). But the dynamic skipper’s dedication to his craft is no secret and his return to training serves as a testament to the fact.
2017 has been a scintillating for the Indian skipper. Kohli smashed 2818 international runs including 11 hundreds from just 46 matches. He has been rested for the limited-overs phase against Sri Lanka and in his place, Rohit Sharma was bestowed with the captaincy duties
