APL 2018: Rashid Khan stunned after watching Hazratullah Zazai bat
The 20-year-old smashed six sixes in the fourth over of the second innings of the game.
The 14th match of the Afghanistan Premier League 2018 was an absolute spectacle to watch. The encounter witnessed as many as 467 runs being scored. 37 sixes were struck in this match and one would never dare to be a bowler in such a brutal encounter. Although there was some great hitting on display, it was Hazratullah Zazai who grabbed most of the limelight.
The 20-year-old smashed six sixes in the fourth over of the second innings of the game. His team, Kabul Zwanan was chasing 245 runs and there had to be a special inning to take them over the line. Zazai came up with the brilliant effort that was required. 37 runs came off the over bowled by Abdullah Mazari which included a wide. The Kabul opener just took 12 balls to get to his half-century levelling the likes of Chris Gayle and Yuvraj Singh.
Great to watch Hazratullah Zazai
However, his efforts went in vain as his team lost the game by 21 runs. They lacked enough firepower down the order to get them to the other side of the result. But, his skipper Rashid Khan seemed to be a proud man after watching the youngsters’ performance. The APL T20 official Twitter handle shared the video of Zazai hitting those six sixes.
“This match today is all about making new records. The flamboyant batsman Hazratullah Zazai has smacked 6 sixes in an over. Got his fifty in just 12 balls. #APLT20 @ACBofficials #BalkhVsKabul,” they wrote.
In a reply to this tweet, Rashid heaped a lot of praise on his teammate. He termed it to be some serious hitting and said it was great to watch Hazratullah Zazai.
“Seriously hitting great to watch @zazai_3,” he replied to the tweet.
Chris Gayle, who cracked 80 off 48 balls for the Balkh Legends was adjudged the ‘Man of the Match’. His innings included 10 humungous sixes.
