Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly recently disclosed that the appointment of the national team coach will take some more time. Ganguly is on the advisory board with Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, who have the responsibility of selecting the coach for the Indian team.

Sourav said, “It will happen in the next couple of months. I am not too sure if it happens before the Zimbabwe tour because it is not too far away,”

He further spoke on the prospect of day-night Tests and said that it will definitely happen in India soon. He also reaffirmed that Test cricket is the pinnacle of the game.

“Day night is a must and I think it will happen in India soon. I think Test cricket is the best form of the game. For any cricketer, it is the ultimate challenge and ultimate judgement of a player. It needs innovation and day-night cricket is the best way forward,” said Ganguly.

Anurag Thakur was today elected as the BCCI President. When asked about how tough the job would be for him, Dada said that no job is easy. He cited that every job has its pros and cons and one needs to emerge on top it.

“Every job comes with challenges. I don’t think it is a crown of thorns, whether you open in a Test match against the best fast bowling attack in the world or you are the BCCI president or the association president. Every job comes with challenges,”

Ganguly said he believes that Thakur is the right man for the job and will do a very good job for the board. There is no second thoughts about it, he hinted. “I think BCCI is in a great position in terms of the way the game goes around in the country. I am sure he will take the team forward,”

“Every job in the world has positives and negatives,” the CAB president concluded.
