The current World Champions of the format, Australia have always managed to hog the limelight when it comes to the ICC tournaments. They are again among the frontrunners for lifting the trophy for a record third time. Holding the record of winning 7 ICC trophies inclusive of 5 World Cups, this Australian side won’t mind adding one more trophy to their cabinet.
While they aren’t quite the invincible team anymore, the Aussie side boasts of great flair in their batting ranks with the likes of the explosive David Warner and the ever consistent Steve Smith. Also, with hard hitters like Chris Lynn and Glenn Maxwell around, it would take a special effort from the opposition bowling to contain them.
The pace attack seems splendid with Mitchell Starc all set to lead alongside Josh Hazelwood, Pat Cummins and Pattinson. Adam Zampa who has displayed some tremendous form time and again would also be looking to spin a web. Overall, the Australian team has got a nice blend of youngsters in their side and if they can all play according to their potential, Australia may well be the team to beat in the tournament.
