Approaching milestones for Indian cricketers: 2015 proved to be a mixed year, they lost their world championship to Australia, lost their first ever ODI series to Bangladesh, but from there went on to beat Sri Lanka at home in the Test series, and after conceding the T20I and ODI series to South Africa ended the year at a high winning the Test series 3-0 and rising to No. 2 in ICC Test rankings. As the year ends, and India’s next campaign begins in January 2016 down under, Let’s have a look at the Approaching milestones for Indian cricketers: 1. MS Dhoni: MS Dhoni. He has the most number of milestones awaiting. – 168 runs more and he will become the fifth Indian player to score 9000 runs in ODIs. – 12 more sixes and he will become the first Indian batsman to score 200 sixes in ODIs. Current Indian record held by Sachin (195 sixes). – 6 more dismissals will make him the 3rd most successful wicketkeeper across all formats. Current dismissals- Dhoni 672, Sanga 678. – 2 more stumpings and Dhoni have the highest number of stumpings across all formats. – 4 more wins in ODIs and MSD will become the second most successful ODI captain in the world after Ricky Ponting. (© Manjunath Kiran/AFP/Getty Images) Second on the list is Test captain Kohli. – Kohli is 169 runs short of 7000 ODI runs. – Four more boundaries and Kohli will have the Indian record for highest number of fours in T20Is. – He is just 6 runs short of 3000 Test runs. – One more fifty and Virat will become the first Indian batsman to score 10 half centuries in T20s. 3. Rohit Sharma: Rohit Sharma. (Photo Source: BCCI) The Hitman of the Indian team has a number of feats waiting to be achieved. – Rohit is just 2 short of 100 sixes in ODIs. – He is one short of 50 catches in ODIs. – 133 runs more and he will join the 1000 runs club in T20Is. – One more half century or more and he’ll have fifty 50+ scores in international cricket. 4. Shikhar Dhawan: Shikhar Dhawan. (Photo Source: AFP) Popularly known for his moustache, Gabbar has some milestones waiting to be accomplished. – Dhawan is 209 runs short of 3000 ODI runs – He is 3 catches short of 50 catches in international cricket. – 4 matches more and Dhawan will complete 100 international appearances. 5. Ravichandran Ashwin: Ravichandran Ashwin. (Photo Source: BCCI) The man in form and India’s frontline spinner at the moment has got some feats to attain. – Ashwin is another 10 wickets short of 150 ODI wickets. – He is just 24 wickets short of 200 Test wickets. – The offie is just 2 catches short of 50 catches in international cricket. 6. Ravindra Jadeja: Ravindra Jadeja. (Photo Source: BCCI) After a great comeback to international cricket, Jadeja is back to break some records. – Jaddu is 196 runs short of 2000 ODI runs. – He is just 6 short of 150 ODI wickets. Ravindra Jadeja will become only the 3rd Indian cricketer after Kapil Dev and Sachin Tendulkar to achieve this combo feat. The form he is in will hardly take time to get there. 7. Ajinkya Rahane: Ajinkya Rahane. Suresh Raina: Suresh Raina. (© Getty Images) One of India’s most prolific batsman, Raina is eyeing a new achievement. – He is 17 runs short of 1000 runs in T20Is.
