Pakistan might not have done really well in the limited overs arena in the recent past. Since the World Cup 2015, the team has gone through a major reshuffle. While this team may look a little off color, the other teams in the competition are well aware of their unpredictable nature. The last time they managed to qualify for the semifinals in an ODI tournament was during the 2011 World Cup. Not many players have survived since then. Success in this tournament could pin major hopes for Pakistan’s revival in international cricket.

With stalwarts like Shoaib Malik and Mohammed Hafeez coming in to add their pinch of experience, the team looks in good shape. While Umar Akmal was sent back due to fitness issues, Haris Sohail has been included in the squad. With a talented youngster like Babar Azam and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed in the batting ranks, Pakistan batting looks good.
Also with a pace attack comprising of Junaid Khan and Mohammed Amir, this team has the potential to turn the tide in their favor. They may well be the surprise entrants in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy. Only time would say.
