Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed and left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny are all set to test their bowling action at an ICC-accredited centre in Brisbane ahead of the England tour.
Both the bowlers were found to have illegal bowling action in the World T20 in India earlier this year and were suspended from bowling in international cricket following an ICC lab test.
Ever since then, both the Bangladesh bowlers has been working on their bowling action and the board is hopeful in getting the action cleared by both their bowlers, as they would love to have the players on the field for the series against England.
“Taskin will give the test on the eighth of September in Brisbane. We are very positive about his case. Arafat Sunny has been working with our head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and (Venkatapathy) Raju and they are both relatively satisfied with his action. He has to go through some more work. But overall the management feels that his action will be good enough by next month and that he too can go along with Taskin in the first week of next month,” BCB director Jalal Yunus told reporters yesterday.

Yunus had earlier said that the videos from the Dhaka Premier League will be taken into consideration for assessment of the bowling action and will later move on to the second bowling action. “Their videos from the Dhaka Premier League will be assessed soon, and if it is satisfactory and we are fully confirmed, they will go for a second bowling action test and it will be before the next international assignment,” he said earlier in July.
England’s tour to Bangladesh is in doubt as the security concerns still remain after the terrorist attack in Dhaka.
