In the 3rd Test, which is in action between England and Pakistan at Rose Bowl, visitors have been struggling hard to land in a respectable position. Due to a weak bowling attack from the Pakistan side in the first innings, the English team posted a total of 583/8 and declared themselves at the very moment.
The green team was bundled out on 273 and have been asked to follow on. By the end of the 4th day, they were able to put up 100/2 on board. Amid this, former Pakistan skipper Aamer Sohail vented out his frustration on the coaching department of the national team led by Misbah-ul-Haq. He didn’t only blame the team for lack of strategy and confidence but pointed fingers on the coaching department as well.
“I saw a little effort in this match from Yasir Shah. He used his driving arm better, but unluckily he again conceded more than 150 runs. This has become a feature of Yasir Shah’s bowling that he is conceding more than 150 runs whenever he bowls a long spell. If your bowler concedes so many runs and doesn’t dismiss too many batsmen, your chances become very less,” Aamer Sohail told on his YouTube Channel.
Both Coaches and players have not been up to the mark: Aamer Sohail
Sohail particularly pointed fingers on Naseem Shah for his ineffective bowling action, and it has been inconsistent ever since, and yet coaches don’t seem to pay any heed to it. Even Shaheen Afridi became a victim of his criticism for losing his form over the period.
“Coming to Naseem Shah, he does not have a repeatable action. The follow-through of his arm is not consistent. And I have been saying repeatedly that it has been such a long time for our coaches, but you don’t see any improvement. And when we talk about Shaheen Afridi, he should have improved, but you can see a decline happening suddenly,” he added.
Shooting bullets directly on coaching department, the former skipper got absolutely candid on how they have been showing the easy casual approach towards the game
“So whose task is this? Why have the coaches been kept? Are they there for a pleasure trip? If they want to go on a pleasure trip, they should be sent on a world tour and let the players continue to play as they are doing,” he concluded.
