Ravindra Jadeja is indeed one of the most sought-after all-rounders going around, and his records speak volumes of his prowess. The left-arm spinner has tormented many prominent batters with his accurate bowling while his big-hitting prowess is also not second to many. Not to forget, Jadeja is a live wire on the field. Besides troubling oppositions with his three-dimensional abilities, the southpaw is also famous for his sword celebrations.
In order to celebrate a fifty or a century, the southpaw swings his bat like a sword. The celebration is meant as a tribute to his culture. While his antics with the bat have impressed many, a section of fans has been criticizing Jadeja for ‘bragging’ about his clan with casteism being a major concern in India. The 31-year-old has found himself in hot waters again for ‘promoting’ casteism.
On Thursday (July), Jadeja took to Twitter and posted: “#RAJPUTBOY FOREVER. Jai hind.” Although the star cricketer has made several such posts before, this tweet was particularly criticized because of its timing. Many claimed that the all-rounder has come out in support of his Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) teammate Suresh Raina.

Suresh Raina has also been in hot waters lately
For the unversed, Raina, while commentating in a Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) match, had highlighted the fact that he’s a Brahmin. “I think I’m also Brahmin. I have been playing since 2004 in Chennai. I love the culture, I love my teammates,” Raina said while talking about Chennai’s culture.
The former Indian cricketer’s remark didn’t go down well with the fans and social media got flooded with criticism. While Raina is yet to clear his stand, Jadeja has allegedly supported him. He made the post only a couple of days later after the controversial episode took place and fans are not amused. Notably, the two southpaws have played a lot of cricket together and are known to share a great bond.
Apart from representing Team India together, the duo has been sharing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for almost a decade. In fact, Raina and Jadeja went to the same team (now-defunct Gujarat Lions) when CSK faced a two-year ban from participating in IPL. Connecting all the dots, netizens found Jadeja’s intentions wrong behind the tweet and slammed him brutally.
Here’s a look at how Twitterati reacted:
We should not promote castism after all you are a future doctor
If we say singh is king ,or brahmin is supreme or someone is cheeta tiger it shows that we are trying to see other as inferior
These all things effects hinduism— Rajan singh (@kumarso43321390) July 22, 2021
@imjadeja sir you're inspiration of millions of people. We doesn't expect this type of view from you. Cast, religion , colour doesn't matter. Whatever but we always love you sir… 🙏❤️

Are you not ashamed to do such casteist talk as a cricketer? We are Indian firstly and lastly.

U may belong to any caste right from Kshatriya, Brahman, OBC or SC. Y only Raina or Jadeja you all should be proud of your caste.
But do remember our Religion & our nationalism should stand above all. Let’s not get divided by casteism better be united on Hinduism & nationalism.

Sheer display of caste at such a reputed level. Shame. Indian cannot be caste free with these caste-obsessed people.

These are not Indians at heart. They are ‘Rajpoop’ first and Indian later. They will never treat all fellow Indians as equal human beings. Always ‘me’ first ideology based on caste structure. Shame.

No proudness comes from birth, if you claim so then that's the biggest sickness. Be proud for what you had become and not with labels which they imposed on you.

Was fan of you before you posted this. Seems like some arrogance in the above tweet and our youth shouldn't ideaoliz such mentality. Representing India at highest level should be your pride and not boosting about your caste @BCCI @imVkohli
