Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, bowled at the Indian batsmen in the nets ahead of the first ODI at Wankhede last week. His left-arm seam bowling was an attempt of the Indian team to counter the threat of New Zealand speedster Trent Boult. The Men in Blue have been time and again troubled by the left-arm seamers like Mohammad Amir, Jason Behrendorff and Boult. However, when he bowled at the skipper Virat Kohli, the deliveries speared in at a sheer pace which impressed Kohli immensely.

The youngster was also seen taking the tips from the bowling coach Bharat Arun which should bode well for him in his development as the bowler. Though his bowling practice didn’t yield great results as the batsmen struggled against Boult who scalped 4/35 in the first game. Only Virat played him with ease and scored a fighting century. The problems of Rohit Sharma against the left arm seamers compounded as he gave away his wicket to him again and also didn’t look comfortable in Pune either.

Arjun bowled three balls at Kohli

The video of Arjun Tendulkar bowling at the Indian batsmen went viral but very few know the fact that he also bowled at Kohli. In a video, he could be seen running at the Indian captain and the contest between the two is worth a watch. The first ball in on middle and leg and is bowled full which the batsman hits straight back and the second one is smothered through the covers. But the third one from Arjun seemed to unsettle Kohli as it was bowled into his hips and he could barely flick it towards square leg.

Arjun Tendulkar has been under the spotlight now for quite some time. His bowling speed is touching 130 kph according to the reports at a very early age and it is being believed that if he is nurtured properly, he could end the team’s search for a left-arm fast bowler. He is an all-rounder and his batting could also come in handy if he is picked in the team in the near future.
