Arjun Tendulkar helps Indian batsmen prepare for Trent Boult
A lot of Indian batsmen had problems facing Mitchell McClenaghan and Trent Boult when these sides met last year.
Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar was spotted in the nets practicing with the Indian side, who are preparing for the New Zealand series currently. Arjun has been practicing with a lot of teams off-late. He trained with the English national side before their series against West Indies and was also spotted bowling to Indian women players during the Women’s World Cup.
A lot of Indian batsmen had problems facing Mitchell McClenaghan and Trent Boult when these sides met last year. Taking that into consideration, the management roped in left-arm seamers to help the batters get used to the angle generated by left-arm seamers. Off-late, Arjun Tendulkar has developed a lot of skill and tends to bowl very quick.
He bowled a quick bouncer to Shikhar Dhawan and the southpaw had no answer to it. It was a wee bit over the head and down the leg, but Dhawan was clearly beaten by the pace. People often doubted the youngster’s ability and was always in the news for some wrong reasons. He seems to be traveling in the right path and it’ll be interesting to see how long it’ll take for him to grab the limelight.
MS Dhoni spanks few big ones
Former skipper MS Dhoni took on the bowlers in the nets. He was clearly in the mood to go big and connected few shots handsomely. Virat Kohli, Dhawan and Rahane were the other members batting in the nets and all these three players were playing shots within their radar.
But Dhoni and Pandya, who will usually bat down the order, practiced spanking a few big ones and when Dhoni connects the ball, it just stays hit. Rohit Sharma, Manish Pandey, and Axar Patel spent some time in the nets, which might suggest that Pandey and Axar might be in the XI on Monday. Of the bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, and some other local bowlers were spotted bowling to these gentlemen.
Here’s the video released by BCCI of the players sweating it out in the sessions.
