Ashes 2021-22: Usman Khawaja's wife and daughter celebrate his comeback century in Sydney

The ongoing 4th Ashes Test has already seen one of the best knocks played by the Australian batter, Usman Khawaja in his comeback game. After having missed almost three years of international action, Khawaja could not have had a better start to the new year and he played high-class knock of 137 runs off 260 deliveries. Travis Head had to miss out on this game as he is in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 and Khawaja has made full use of the opportunity.
He hit 13 fours in the innings that made sure Australia posted a big score of 416 on the board in their first innings. The first day of the Test saw the rain playing spoilsport while the second day worked in the hosts’ favor. Vice-captain, Steve Smith played a handy knock as well scoring 67 while the lower order contributed perfectly in the end. Khawaja’s century was the highlight of the day and his wife along with his daughter in the crowd were quite happy to see him raise his bat to the crowd.

Popular supporting of English cricket, Barmy Army, was very much in ‘awe’ of the celebrations of Khawaja along with his wife Rachel Mclellan in the crowd. The 35-year-old has proved to be a great addition for the fourth Test and it will be interesting to see if he can hold on to his place when Travis Head returns to the squad. Head has already made a fine century in the first Test and the competition for the spots could be up for grabs.

Meanwhile, England managed to find a place for Stuart Broad finally in their playing XI for Sydney Test and he has proved his worth with a five-wicket haul. Root, Anderson, and Mark Wood all picked up one wicket each while the Australian batters kept making merry of the English bowling lineup. All eyes will now be on the English batters who have been very ordinary so far in the series.
