Hardik Pandya
The 2016 Asia Cup was still early days for India’s budding all-rounder Hardik Pandya. He put up one of his finest bowling performances with Team India during this tournament against Pakistan, picking up three wickets for only 8 runs in 3.3 overs. He had the best figures on the day across the two teams.
Pandya later made the squad for the T20 World Cup in India that year and was one of India’s regular starters. He also played in the 2017 Champions Trophy, 2019 ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup in 2021. He has battled through injuries time and again but has only grown from strength to strength as an all-rounder.
Pandya, today, is one of the best all-rounders in the world in the white ball circuit and an integral part of the national team. His emergence as a leader, as was shown in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with Gujarat Titans, guiding them to the title, just emphasized his importance being in the team.
