India and Pakistan are all set to face each other for the second time in four days in the ongoing Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Though the Men in Blue had rolled them over in the group stage very few will write off Pakistan after the way they had made a comeback in the Champions Trophy final last year. Fakhar Zaman was the star batsman for them and he will pose the threat in Sunday’s encounter as well. However, Aakash Chopra has tried to help the Indian bowlers a bit by exposing Fakhar’s weaknesses through which they can get him early in the innings.

Fakhar is fresh from his double century against Zimbabwe but has lost his form somehow in this tournament. India and Afghanistan both got the better of him and didn’t allow him to score even a single run. Even against Hong Kong, the flamboyant left-hander got out early while chasing 116 runs and he will be itching to get going against India in Dubai.

Get closer to the stumps

Aakash Chopra, in his own show Aakashwani on Youtube, tried to figure out Fakhar Zaman‘s style of batting and let his fans know the same. He pointed out that the cricketer likes to stay out of the line of the ball and likes to muscle it through the covers and point. So his suggestion to the Indian bowlers is to pitch the ball further up and with Fakhar not moving his front leg towards the ball, has a chance to edge it to the wicketkeeper or slip.

He also wanted Team India to try out some bouncers to him when he is new to the crease as Fakhar gets into some weird positions while playing it. He was dismissed while playing a similar kind of delivery earlier this week off Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bag an 11-ball duck. Moreover, the former Indian cricketer also felt that if a bowler keeps the ball within the stumps while bowling from round the wicket, then the 28-year-old batter also has a chance inside edging the ball onto his stumps while driving or cutting.

It remains to be seen now if the Indian bowlers will be able to get rid of Fakhar Zaman early or it will be yet another big knock from him.
