India clinched the Asia Cup title for the record sixth time (seven times including T20I) by winning a thriller against Bangladesh in the final. The tournament witnessed some thrilling encounters that went down till the last ball. Afghanistan tied with India after losing a couple of last over thrillers to bow out of the tournament. Hong Kong nearly got better of India thanks to a big opening stand in a chase. The Indian opening pair stood tall in almost every game and backed the performance of their bowlers.

6 – Number of catches Shikhar Dhawan has taken in this Asia Cup including the four against Bangladesh in the Super Four game. These are the most number of catches for any player in a single edition of the Asia Cup. As many as seven players claimed five catches in an Asia Cup tournament previously.
10 – Rashid Khan, Kuldeep Yadav and Mustafizur share the leading wicket-takers spot of the Asia Cup 2018 with ten wickets apiece. This is only the third time that three different players bagged ten or more wickets in a single edition of the Asia Cup. (2004 and 2008 are the other two)
12 – MS Dhoni’s 12 dismissals in this Asia Cup are the most in a single edition of this competition. Kumar Sangakkara (in 2004 and 2010) and Dhoni himself in 2008 and 2012 affected 11 dismissals apiece. Dhoni’s six stumpings in this series are also the most surpassing Sangakkara’s four in the 2008 edition.
13 – Rohit Sharma’s 13 sixes in this tournament are the second most in an Asia Cup edition behind Sanath Jayasuriya’s 14 in 2008. No player other than Rohit hit ten sixes.
44 – Number of fours Shikhar Dhawan hit in this tournament. These are the joint 2nd most number of fours hit by any player in a single edition of the Asia Cup. Virender Sehwag had smacked as many as 49 fours in 2008 while Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara hit 44 apiece in the same season.
285/7 – India’s total of 285/7 against Hong Kong is the highest team total of this tournament. Between 1997 and 2014 all Asia Cup editions witnessed at least one 300+ total. The first five editions of the tournament didn’t register even one total of 300.
327 – Shikhar Dhawan’s 327 runs in the tournament are the most by any player. His tally is the 6th most by any player in a single edition of the Asia Cup. Rohit Sharma’s 317 and Mushfiqur Rahim’s 302 occupy the 8th and 10th position in the list of most runs in an Asia Cup edition ever.
