Not many times in the recent years did India and Pakistan play twice in a span of five days, but thanks to the Asia Cup format, the marquee clash has repeated itself in a blink of an eye and there’s a good chance that they’ll play another game this coming Friday, the final of the tournament.

Both sides are coming off a victory in their first super four games, but there is a chalk and cheese difference between the way India and Pakistan won their games. Momentum clearly has shifted paths and is currently favoring the Men in Blue.

A win for either side would pretty much seal a place in the final and henceforth, they’ll give it their best shot. The last meeting between the arch-rivals ended being a disappointing, one-sided battle, but the fans would be hoping that this game provides some great entertainment.

Pitch

250 certainly is not a winning score on any track in India, but in Dubai, this well and truly is a par total. The temperatures will remain high and the pitch will stay dry, which should see the spinners hogging a lot of limelight.

Playing Combination

India

The skipper Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will be opening the innings as always, with Ambati Rayudu coming in at number three. KL Rahul might have to wait for his chance. Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, and Ravindra Jadeja will be comprising the middle order.

All eyes will be on Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal as they are the strongest weapons Rohit has at his disposal. Ravindra Jadeja will be the third major spinning option with Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar being the mainstream pacers.

Predicted XI

Rohit Sharma (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (wk), Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal Jasprit Bumrah

Pakistan

The in-form pair Imam-ul-Haq and the struggling Fakhar Zaman will continue in their opening position with Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed, Asif Ali and Shadab Khan coming in the middle order.

Hasan Ali will be the senior most pacer in the side with support coming from Usman Khan and young sensation Shaheen Afridi. Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf are the other bowling options for the Pakistani skipper.

Predicted XI

Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (c & wk), Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Usman Khan, Shaheen Afridi

Probable Top Performers

Kuldeep Yadav – India | Babar Azam – Pakistan

The prediction is for India to win the game once again and confirm their berth in the finals.
