Pakistan’s clash against India is arguably one of the most anticipated fixtures in the cricketing world and more than often delivers riveting drama on the field. The arch-rivals are once again set to lock horns in an electrifying Asia Cup clash on the 28th of August at the Dubai International Stadium.

The Men in Green, who have largely been the underdogs against the record seven-time winners of the Asia Cup tournament, head into the clash after trampling the Indian team by ten wickets in their last encounter at the T20 World Cup last year. Although Rohit Sharma’s side are the favorites to lift the trophy for a third successive time, Pakistan have got all the necessary weapons in their arsenal to upend the defending champions in their clash.

We list the three compelling reasons for Pakistan’s success against India in its upcoming titanic battle:

3. Indian top order batter’s woes against Pakistani left-arm pacers

India boasts of one of the most formidable batting lineups in the world and has always been a strong top-order side. But like every other phenomenon in the world, they have kryptonite as well, left-arm pacers. The likes of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli have been susceptible to left-arm bowlers in the recent past.

Their recent tour of England highlighted their vulnerability against left-arm quicks as the likes of Rohit and Virat were dismissed by left-armers David Willey and Reece Topley on several occasions. Windies fast bowler Obed McCoy further emphasized India’s woes by scalping six wickets in one of the T20I outings.

Mohammad Amir initially demonstrated their weakness in the 2017 Champions trophy final, as he ran through the top three Indian batters. Young fast bowling sensation Shaheen Afridi also demonstrated similar exploits rattling Rohit and Rahul in last year’s T20 WC clash. If the Pakistani pacer can repeat his heroics from his last outing, Pakistan will likely triumph in the clash.
